1. Introduction

1.1 Scope of the Policy

The primary purpose of this document is to present Wiiisdom’s Corporate Social Responsibility Policy (CSR).

1.2 What is CSR?

CSR involves companies regulating themselves to have a positive impact on society, focusing on ethical operations, human rights, and social, economic, and environmental effects. They must meet or exceed legal standards, and apply best practices where laws are absent. Wiiisdom pledges to conduct all business ventures ethically, adhering to these principles.

The Triple bottom line and it’s relation with CSR

The concept of the “triple bottom line” advocates for a holistic approach to business, emphasizing the importance of balancing three critical dimensions: people, planet, and profit.

This framework encourages companies to extend their focus beyond mere financial performance to also consider their social and environmental impact. Companies committed to social responsibility endeavor to optimize outcomes across these three spheres, striving to contribute positively to global well-being. They recognize that sustainable success involves not just generating profit but also fostering societal benefits and minimizing environmental harm.

 

2. CSR at Wiiisdom

2.1 Our History

Wiiisdom, originally known as GB&SMITH, is at the leading edge of analytical governance solutions with its main offerings, 360Suite, Wiiisdom for Tableau, and Wiiisdom for Power BI. Founded in 2007 by two distinguished Business Intelligence (BI) experts, the company embarked on a mission to revolutionise the way organisations manage and leverage their data.

The creation of 360Suite represented a significant milestone, offering agile, customised governance solutions for SAP BusinessObjects, thus setting a new standard in the industry.

In a strategic move to expand its portfolio of services, Wiiisdom acquired Kinesis-CI in 2020, which was subsequently renamed Wiiisdom Ops. This acquisition brought innovative solutions designed for Tableau, further empowering organisations to harness the full potential of their data for everyday decision-making processes.

Wiiisdom’s leadership team is a mix of business intelligence pioneers and experienced data management professionals. Their collective expertise, accumulated over decades, predates the advent of contemporary BI technologies. This wealth of experience, almost a combined century in total, is channelled into driving innovation and meeting the evolving challenges of analytics.

Sebastien Goiffon, our CEO and a Business Objects domain expert, has been key in shaping Wiiisdom’s vision and culture. His journey from global consultant to co-founder of Wiiisdom exemplifies the executive team’s commitment to excellence and leadership.

At the centre of Wiiisdom’s philosophy is the conviction that accurate and reliable data analysis should be the cornerstone of decision-making. We are dedicated to equipping our customers with world-class analytics governance solutions, enabling them to efficiently automate and optimise their analytics operations. What began as a singular focus on 360Suite for SAP BusinessObjects has evolved into a broad portfolio of Analytics Governance.

Today, Wiiisdom serves more than 600 customers worldwide, making it easier to scale data analysis initiatives and reinforcing the strategic value of informed decision-making.

Since its creation by two visionary entrepreneurs in France, Wiiisdom has grown into a dynamic team of more than 80 professionals spread across offices in France, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada. Despite this rapid expansion, the entrepreneurial enthusiasm that marked our beginnings continues to drive us, with more than half of our team dedicated to product development and engineering.

Our team members come from diverse backgrounds, bringing a rich variety of perspectives and expertise to the table. However, we are united by a shared commitment to transform Data Analytics into a reliable resource for making informed decisions. This unique blend of

2.4 Our Suppliers

WIIISDOM is deeply committed to embodying the role of a “responsible corporate citizen”, guiding its operations with a firm adherence to ethical, social and environmental principles. In line with this commitment, WIIISDOM holds its partners to the same rigorous standards of compliance and integrity.

We require our suppliers to strictly comply with all applicable local laws and regulations in the jurisdictions in which they operate. This covers a wide range of legal areas, including but not limited to anti-corruption, health and safety, human rights, combating human trafficking and modern slavery, data protection, international trade, compliance, competition law and environmental management.

Our ethical compass is aligned with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, as we strive to contribute to a world that is fair, equitable and sustainable for all. We expect our suppliers not only to adhere to these principles, but also to actively promote and guarantee good practices in their own operations.

If there is any deviation from these standards or any violation of our code of conduct by our suppliers or their subcontractors, this will lead to a thorough analysis and could lead to the termination of our business relationship.

To uphold the highest standards of integrity and transparency, we encourage suppliers to report any questionable behavior or potential violations of this Code. Suppliers are initially encouraged to address their concerns directly with their primary contact at Wiiisdom.

Wiiisdom is committed to maintaining confidentiality to the fullest extent possible and strictly prohibits any form of retaliation against individuals who, in good faith, seek advice or report questionable conduct. 2.5 Our environment role

Since 2022, Wiiisdom has embarked on a crucial journey towards environmental responsibility by initiating the measurement of our carbon footprint. In collaboration with Greenly, we have developed a comprehensive report that not only quantifies our environmental impact but also guides us in becoming more conscientious global citizens. This initiative is part of our broader commitment to sustainability, aiming to devise effective reduction strategies and ensure compliance with global guidelines for a healthier planet. Our goal is to not just understand our ecological footprint but to actively implement measures that contribute to a sustainable future for all.

The approach Wiiisdom has adopted to measure our carbon footprint is based primarily on analysing our expenses. While we recognise that this methodology may not capture the full accuracy of our environmental impact, it serves as an interim solution until we can fully integrate a more comprehensive reporting system.

Initial results indicate a slight increase in our emission levels, which interestingly enough reflects our strategic positioning in the market. The insights gained in our inaugural report, along with other strategic initiatives by the company, have highlighted the need for holistic changes in various sectors of our organisation.

We are optimistic that, with the next report, we will witness a reduction in our carbon footprint. This expectation is underpinned by our commitment to adopting more accurate measurement systems and implementing targeted sustainability practices. Our journey to minimise our environmental impact is ongoing and we are dedicated to making significant progress in the near future.

SBTi

Following the assessment of our emissions, we progressed to securing approval for our near-term target strategy from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Our choice to engage with SBTi was deliberate, given its foundation through a collaboration among leading organizations in climate action, including the United Nations Global Compact, CDP, World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Our aim was to ensure that our emission reduction targets are not only ambitious but also aligned with the objectives of Agenda 2030, benefiting from the initiative’s guidance on best practices to achieve our goals.

Our commitment aligns with the objectives set forth in the 2015 UN Paris Agreement, specifically the goal to limit global warming to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels, and to pursue efforts to limit the temperature increase even further to 1.5°C. Our validated Science Based Targets (SBTs) for absolute emissions reduction are as follows:

  • Achieve a 42% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions, which encompass emissions directly controlled or owned by Wiiisdom, by 2030, using 2022 as the base year.
  • Actively measure and work towards reducing Scope 3 GHG emissions, which include all other indirect emissions that occur in our value chain.

Through these targeted actions, we are committed to playing our part in combating climate change and contributing to a sustainable future.

How do we communicate or strategies

We are deeply committed to transparency and active communication regarding our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) efforts. To keep our stakeholders informed and engaged, we warmly invite everyone to follow our latest ESG updates through our social media channels and on our website.

Employees awareness training

We believe in empowering our employees with the knowledge and tools they need to contribute to a more sustainable world. To achieve this, we leverage our intranet as a platform for sharing insights and initiatives. Additionally, we provide monthly training sessions developed in collaboration with our partner, Greenly, aimed at enhancing our team’s understanding of sustainability practices.

Our goal is to disseminate knowledge widely, fostering a collective commitment to act conscientiously and make informed decisions for a better future.

In the office

At Wiiisdom, our commitment to environmental management runs through every facet of our operations. We have adopted separate waste collection as a key element of our responsible waste management strategy and are eliminating the use of plastic, opting for eco-friendly alternatives to reduce our ecological footprint.

Realizing the importance of offering sustainable options to our employees, we have partnered with a concierge service to provide ethically sourced fruit, coffee and tea. This initiative supports our sustainability goals and ensures that our staff enjoy high-quality, environmentally responsible products.

To further our commitment to energy conservation, we have installed motion sensors in all our facilities, ensuring that lights are only switched on when necessary. This effort is complemented by our collaboration with building management and other offices to ensure that lights are switched off during non-operational hours, significantly reducing unnecessary energy consumption.

In addition, we advocate digital solutions and actively encourage our staff to limit printing, with the aim of cultivating a paperless environment wherever possible. This approach is an essential component of our comprehensive strategy to reduce our environmental footprint.

Through these initiatives, among others, we are steadfast in our mission to promote a culture of sustainability at Wiiisdom. Our goal is clear: to make a substantial and positive impact on the planet by demonstrating that corporate responsibility and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand.

Travel policy

At Wiiisdom, we are deeply committed to contributing positively to the environment and aligning our operations with global sustainability efforts. Recognizing the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030, we aim to integrate these objectives into our business practices, particularly but not only, in the realm of business travel. Our travel policy is meticulously crafted to guide our employees towards making environmentally responsible decisions that support SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and 13 (Climate Action). These goals underscore the importance of mindful consumption, mobility, and production to reduce our ecological footprint and ensure a sustainable future.

We encourage our team to critically assess the necessity of business travel and to prioritize virtual meetings using online collaboration tools whenever possible. This approach not only minimizes our carbon footprint but also aligns with our commitment to sustainable development. In instances where travel is unavoidable, we advocate for the selection of the most sustainable options that benefit both the company and the environment.

For local transportation, we strongly recommend that our employees utilize public transit or other eco-friendly alternatives to reduce emissions. Additionally, our travel policy emphasizes the importance of sustainable lodging choices. We actively seek partnerships with hotels that demonstrate a commitment to sustainability and are conveniently located near our headquarters to accommodate employees from other locations in an environmentally friendly manner.

By embedding these principles into our travel policy, we aim to empower our employees to make informed choices that contribute to a more sustainable world, reflecting our dedication to the SDGs and our responsibility as global citizens.

IT material policy

Wiiisdom is dedicated to empowering its employees with the technology they need to excel, whether they’re in the office or working remotely. Our approach to procuring IT equipment is guided by mandatory guidelines that managers must follow when requesting resources for their team members.

In our commitment to environmental sustainability, we prioritize the acquisition of refurbished materials whenever possible. This practice helps us minimize our ecological footprint by reducing the demand for new electronics. When refurbished options are not available, we opt for devices that come with an extended warranty policy to ensure that we make the most of our equipment’s lifespan and utilize our resources efficiently.

Upon joining the company, each employee receives a session with our IT experts, to set up the equipment and ensure it is functioning properly.

We actively encourage our new hires to engage with our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. A comprehensive list of eco-friendly practices related to IT equipment management is disseminated through our internal communications platform. This initiative is part of our broader commitment to fostering a culture of sustainability and responsible consumption within our organization, empowering every employee to contribute positively to our environmental goals.

Bike incentive

The company has launched an innovative and eco-friendly Bike Incentive Program, designed to encourage employees to choose cycling as their preferred mode of commuting to the office. To support this initiative, each employee is allocated an annual budget specifically intended to cover the costs associated with bike maintenance and the purchase of necessary accessories. Employees have the opportunity to request reimbursement for their bicycle-related expenses annually, making it easier and more affordable for them to embrace a greener and healthier mode of transportation. This program not only underscores our commitment to promoting sustainable commuting options but also contributes to the well-being of our employees and the environment.

Commuting incentive and Working from Home Policy

Our headquarters are strategically located in the heart of Lille, a few steps away from the train station and accessible via numerous bus routes. This intentional location choice underscores our pledge to motivate our employees to use public transportation, aligning with our commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 13: Climate Action.

By advocating for the use of energy-efficient public transport, we strive to diminish our carbon footprint and aid in enhancing urban air quality, thus fostering the health and well-being of our community.

Furthermore, as part of our commitment to sustainable travel, we have integrated remote working into our core operational policies. This policy is aimed at boosting creativity, elevating work quality, and nurturing a healthy balance between work and life for our staff. At Wiiisdom, telecommuting arrangements are established collaboratively, enabling employees to propose teleworking schedules that accommodate their personal needs while maintaining our business’s continuity and productivity. With these initiatives, we dedicate ourselves to cultivating a workplace culture that is adaptable, inclusive, and mindful of the environment.

2.6 Monitoring and assessing compliance with Social Responsability rules
